Edith I, If you tested at AncestryDNA before mid-May 2016, you can transfer to FTDNA. If you tested after mid-May, 2016, you'll have to wait for FTDNA to finish up incompatibility issue.
Many people are getting into DNA testing because of commercials on TV that advertise the ethnicity percentages. That's all they want. Some may become interested in genealogy and eventually begin research and put up a tree. Others won't. Some don't know how to make a Gedcom in order to import their tree from their genealogy software. Some are adoptees/donor conceived people with no trees. Others simply don't share their trees. In the Azores DNA project, there's a welcome letter that tells people about putting up a tree. We can try and encourage others. Since you have approximate years (1871 and 1864) and the location of Ribeira Seca on Sao Jorge, you can go to tombo.pt/en and look them up yourself. Just stay in the left hand navigation pane: Azores>Sao Jorge, etc until you get to R.Seca.
