I asked the date of the map because I was told that the area that my great grandparents came from had fallen into the ocean. They were from Salto Verde. I see Faja do Salto Verde on the Northern coastline. It is just west of the second longitude line from the lower end of the island.
I know when we were there in 2001 a fellow was telling us that to hike there was very difficult because the trail was very narrow and steep. We did not do the hike.
