Hi Shirley My mother is also directly related to Maria-wife of Joao Pires de Matos. Our family names have changed over the centuries and include Matos, Teixeira, Brasil, Silveira, Avila, Luis etc. Are you related to Marcio Borba from Canada? I must admit that this genealogy-especially DNA- stuff confuses me. Most of my ancestors stem from Ribeira Seca, Sanguihal, and Topo.
