Andrew, unless you are planning a trip to the Azores you will have to hire a researcher to do the research for you. You can go to the Azores GenWeb site at: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~azrwgw/index.html and look for the list that Kathy has of researchers for hire. Personally I have Joao Ventura, who lived in Terceira, do searches for me. He is very reliable.
