Hi Rosemarie,
Thanks for your response. I have used Joao Ventura recently. He was able to
find one document for me but had difficulty locating for others largely because
the information I had given him was perhaps not 100% accurate. But I think I
will redouble my efforts with Joao. Thanks again.

Andrew, unless you are planning a trip to the Azores you will have to hire a
researcher to do the research for you. You can go to the Azores GenWeb site at:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~azrwgw/index.html and look for the list that
Kathy has of researchers for hire. Personally I have Joao Ventura, who lived in
Terceira, do searches for me. He is very reliable.

Thanks Cheri for responding to my post. This is extremely frustrating. Not
sure how to access these records unless I physically visit the islands.

The archive in Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel island only scanned their records to
1905 or so. Not all were scanned to 1910/1911. The CCA considers the genealogy
project done and have moved on to other historical things on the islands. :(

Hello Everyone,

My name is Andrew Medeiros. I currently reside in Rhode Island and I just
joined your group today. I am currently doing research for my family who
originated on Sao Miguel, specifically I have been looking at Ribeira Grande.
Does anyone know when CCA will be releasing the records for 1906-1910? I
really need to be able to research these years as I do not know the exact
parish and date of a wedding that occurred around this time. If not, anyone
know how I could contact them to find out?

Thanks,
Andrew
