João Ventura, archivist, told us that many of the expostos were baptized at the various Matriz'. Bretanha belongs to Ponta Delgada and the Matriz in Ponta Delgada is São Sebastião. That's on the other side of the island. I do see Ribeira Grande mentioned in your document. That's on the north coast of São Miguel island. I'd check the Matriz of R.Grande. The name of that church is Nossa Senhora da Estrela. Good luck, Cheri
