Catholic Church tradition has discouraged weddings in Advent (December) and Lent (Feb/March or March/April) because of the penitential nature of the seasons. Some priests are more strict than others but there is not outright prohibition during these times. The only time in the Catholic Church where NO sacraments are celebrated are on Good Friday & Holy Saturday.
