Hello All: I am curious as to how often (if any) that relatives would either shorten or lengthen their first name. For example, my 4th great grandmothers first name is Anna. Would she at times use the name Joanna? While researching baptism records for her children I have found a couple of records listing the mother as Anna Maria Roza (her full name), as well as others with Joanna Maria or Joanna Roza. The fathers name in all the records is the same, Jose Gomes Henriques her husband.
