Since you ordered a YDNA test for your grandfather, he's an existing
customer. If you ordered a YDNA on yourself, you'd be a new customer (and a
different person than your grandfather) so you would receive your own kit
number.

No, I would not order a YDNA test for yourself. It *should* be identical,
however, mutations are random events that happen. Since your grandfather is
the older generation, you want to work with his DNA. Wait until it comes in
and see if he has any good YDNA matches. FTDNA will have another sale at
the end of the year.

It looks like they are having a hard time with your grandfather's Family
Finder. It appears that they found a Y chromosome and are extracting that.
Both tests are within the given processing time, so you get to sit and wait.
