What last name? My grandfather Manuel Mello married Mary Medeiros, but in
Hawaii - I no of no connection to Fall River - all my Mello relatives resided
in Oakland - they left Hawaii around 1902 or so....Jo Anne Mello

Most Portuguese in Hawaii came from Sao Miguel island in the Azores (the ship
left from there) or from Madeira (another ship left from there).
Please give the full name of the immigrant, approximate age, if he was married
at the time and kids. There's the Bob De Mello book and the Knowlton book that
covers immigrants to Hawaii. Many people on this list own the book(s) and can
do a look up, but more information is needed.
