Thank you, but, to be fair and honest here ….. others are doing the extracting
and acquiring the records. I receive them, sometimes have to do some tweaking
to prepare them for the website, and then publish them there. I actually have a
very small role in all of this but I’m happy to do what I can for the cause of
furthering our research.

Good luck and happy hunting!

There have been some updates and additions to the Azores GenWeb ……

An updated version of the Sao Jorge Marriage Index with submitted corrections
has been posted. Additionally, we have added the capability to search the
entire index right from the Sao Jorge Marriage Index page, from any field or
combination of fields you choose. This is an exciting addition to this
wonderful index and will allow you to search for partial names, dates, etc. For
instance, if your couple was a Manuel married to a Barbara, surnames unknown or
unsure of, from Velas about the year 1720, you enter those criteria and will
get results, if there are any. It’s a wonderful tool and should make working
with this index much more efficient and productive.

In addition, we now how the early Wills of Sao Jorge available. These 5 books
include the Wills for Sao Jorge from 1518-1666. They are being made available
thanks to the efforts of Angela Cardoso Reis. Any questions may be directed to
the Sao Jorge Genealogy Group on Facebook.
