Cory G,

She's probably Maria Estrella da Costa (or would be in the Portuguese
records).

I don't understand why you say that you don't know where she is from but
then go on to say most of your family is from Arrifes and Lagoa.

Here's a list of things to look into (a how-to from the Azores GenWeb):
https://goo.gl/dGG4Ar

You could write or call Santo Cristo in Fall River and ask them for a copy
of what is in the book (if they cannot photocopy it, maybe they can take a
picture on a cell and text it to you). I can't remember if Massachusetts
falls under the 90 year rule (if so, you should be able to obtain it) or
the 100 year rule (you'd have to wait until next year). You want what is in
the book, as the bride may have stated the village where she was from.
Maybe they can just tell you that part over the phone.

The U.S. Censuses will give her year of immigration and naturalization. If
she did not naturalize and lived until 1940, she had to file the paperwork
for the Smith Act/Alien Registration. Immigration, naturalization, and
alien registration are things to look into as well. IF (giant IF) she is
consistent on her immigration year, you *might* be able to find her
emigrating from the Azores - IF (giant IF) the records exist.

Good luck,
