This is not necessarily related to our Azores people, but I'm wondering what is the recommended filing system for women who have more than one marriage. Generally for a male I keep everything related to my direct connection (i.e., Husband + Wife 1) together in a file with their names; if I have materials related to husband + wife 2, I usually file it in the back of the folder--probably bad now that I'm writing it down. For women, they are generally filed with Husband name & Wife. If she marries a second time do we start a new file with New Husband & Wife? Does anyone keep the file with Woman's name & husband(s)? One solution would be to put a paper in the file of Husband + Wife 1 stating that Wife married Husband 2 so that further information can be found in that file. Suggestions?
