Mickey, this is what I have found so far: Manuel A. Fonte and Amelia Enos married in Alameda County CA April 7, 1907. In the 1920 census, 1397 Sixteenth St., Oakland, Alameda County, CA. Manuel A. Ponte 34, b. Portugal, came to US 1888, PA (applied for citizenship) wife, Emily 33, born U.S., all children bor U.S.: Evelyn 11, Genevieve 5, Hazel 2, and a boarder.
I can search further if you would like me to. Do you live in CA? If so, you can get copy of their marriage record...if not, I might be able to help you obtain one and that might give you more specific place where Manuel was born.
