Jenny V,

Your husband's birth will state what is known about his parents and his
grandparents. The people in his freguesia (village) probably know who the
father was. You don't say how old your husband is, but there may be people
alive who know.

Other than that, your husband would have to take a DNA test to figure it
out. He would need to test at all the major DNA companies, as you don't
know which company a close relative has tested at. And you may have to wait
a while for a match to come in. Currently, MyHeritage is having a sale.
www.myheritage.com. Once your husband tests there, you can transfer his
results for free to Family Tree DNA and get the matches for free. Then he'd
need to test with AncestryDNA (www.ancestry.com). I'm sure they will have a
sale sooner or later.

Hope this helps, Cheri Mello
