Rabo de Peixe is the freguesia next to Calhetas, and Calhetas was 
considered part of Rabo de Peixe freguesia at one time. You will not find 
records older than 1796 for baptisms, 1836 for marriages. Calhetas must 
have begun almost the same time as Rabo de Peixe because it is often 
referenced in the old Ribeira Grande and Rabo de Peixe records. It is 
possible that you may find some links to Ribeira Grande, Estrela, and to 
lesser extent, maybe Ponta Delgada also. Really, I know we want more, but 
it is blessing to have anything in the 1600's at all.
