I had that word “official” in a record for an iron worker and it turned out to 
be like the word for “occupation” like “oficieu?( probably I didn’t spell it.  
I thought it meant “office” (?) ”something but it referred to occupation.  I 
don’t know if that makes sense but it was a word used in a short timeframe of 
years  and in a parish I was researching.  Mine said official ferreiro- I knew 
they didn’t have trains and asked on AZORES list- it turned out to mean 
BLACKSMITH.  Now THAT made more sense to me.  Good luck 🍀
