Gordon, my maternal grandfather and his mother and sisters arrived in New
Bedford in 1901. My father and his mother and siblings arrived in Boston in
1920. My maternal grandmother and her mother were the only ones in my
family to enter through Ellis Island. Immigrants who landed in New York
prior to 1892 probably came through Castle Garden.
