I think I have an idea of what happened here but I'm not sure if I'm correct.
>From what I understand, Manoel was baptized at home by a gentleman who was his godfather, Manoel Joaquim de Souza, because he was born sick. He was then anointed with the holy oils by the parish priest on the same day. I think then the priest says that he baptized him again because he did not trust the validity of the first baptism because Manoel de Souza said that he had just sprinkled the baby with a few drops of water. Is this correct? http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-LG-ROSARIO-B-1829-1836/SMG-LG-ROSARIO-B-1829-1836_item1/P525.html -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Azores Genealogy" group.
