Mindy S, Most of the freguesias are on the coast. So Feteiras and Capelas are on opposite sides of the island. Because they are volcanic, you'd have to either walk around (that would be a long walk....maybe a day? I don't know). Or you'd have to hike up and over to get to the other freguesia. The pinched waist area of Sao Miguel island is approximately 10 miles wide (the island is roughly 40 miles long). Where I drew this line is about 10 miles: [image: image.png]
