I just read that onagers (wild ass) becomes reddish-brown during the summer. I
also read another article that said in mid-June they have their mating season
which is when the stallions fight each other for the females. Maybe that is why
it could say red wild ass. During the winter, they are grayer.
Maybe Ishmael will be a red onager and not the other color one because that is
when they fight each other.
