I don’t know where you’re getting your interest in “apart from”, but this
is a second word which has absolutely no connection with “apart from” or
“away from”.

It is used five times, all in Exodus, 25:27, 30:4, 37:14, 27, 38:5. In all
five uses, it has a prefixed Lamed meaning “for” with a plural BD meaning
“staff (as in big stick), part”, in each case the big stick is a carrying
pole.
