It may be interesting to note how the Canaanite word for  “Egypt” appears 
in the Amarna Letters,  in Akkadian-style cuneiform.  Here  is Amarna Letter 
EA 289: 34, from IR-Heba, the Hurrian princeling ruler of  Jerusalem: 
KUR mi-ic-ri.KI 
[Notes:  (i) KUR is “land”;  c = ssade;  KI is  “place”.] 
The three key consonants are MCR.  The Hebrew rendering, of course, is  
MCRYM [for example at Genesis 12: 10].
