Dear Uzi, Apparently the Jordan was stopped from near Adam south so that it did not flow into the Dead Sea (Sea of Salt). That would be sufficient for 2.4 - 3.5 million people to cross (the last census in Numbers had about 620,000 soldiers over 20).
