Thank you, Justen Whittall & Elizabeth Dahlhoff Department of Biology Santa Clara University Original BABs Announcement: Next week, the Department of Biology at Santa Clara University hosts its first Bay Area Biosystematists Meeting (Tuesday, April 13, 2010): "Coevolution: Patterns & Processes" This lively panel discussion will feature: Ellen Simms (UC Berkeley) - plant:microbe coevolution (http://ib.berkeley.edu/labs/simms/) Charles Hanifin (Hopkins Marine Station - Stanford) - snake:newt coevolution (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/charles-hanifin/5/A34/B71) Scott Hodges (UC Santa Barbara) - plant:pollinator coevolution (http://www.lifesci.ucsb.edu/eemb/faculty/hodges/index.html) Short presentations by each panelist will be followed by a general discussion on recent advances & current controversies in this exciting field. Schedule: Social Gathering & Catered Buffet Dinner: 5:30pm - Dinner includes Caesar salad, tortellini & penne pastas with marinara & Bolognese sauces, garlic bread, cookies/brownies, and beverages. The cost is $15 for everyone. The Department of Biology is generously subsidizing the catered dinner. If anyone would like to join us, yet is short on funds, please inquire about the "grants-for-hungry-grads" program. You may pay by cash or personal check at the door. Parking: When you enter from El Camino Real, stop at the parking kiosk to receive a complementary Invited Guest Pass.
