Hello everyone
As you will no doubt know Ave Wrigley posted a message to the group outlining his "bbc2mp3" project. Shortly afterwards a message appearing to be sent from Tom Loosemore, BBC was posted, with the response "See you in court. Tom."
I can categorically assure you all that this message was NOT sent by Tom Loosemore nor anyone else from the BBC. It appears that an individual faked the FROM field in his mail client to make it appear as though the message was sent from Tom.
No doubt most of you will be familiar with this kind of vulnerability as is it is often used in spam.
I'm sorry for the delay in getting this message out to you all, however we wanted to be clear with what had happened first before making any announcement. I can also confirm that we know who sent the message and we will be personally following this up with them.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any confusion this has coursed.
