Something I don't totally understand is why new content is still being produced under the contracts/agreements etc that prohibit it being shared and used as the BBC now aims to? Of course it is a lot harder to apply that desire to your archives of tv,radio and online content, but surely any new programmes/content being made now could be signed to a new agreement that allows for the "ripping,sharing and remixing" philosophy that the BBC seems now to want to do?
