Having Sky News is a bonus - I always enjoy flicking between Sky and BBC's
coverage of a breaking event (fascinating to see the differing editorial
stances), plus the usual things like different commentators and 'experts'
during a breakinge event.

France 24 in English and French is nice, though I can watch those online
(but albeit it much lower quality) - the quality hasn't gone down either,
which is very nice. Addition of a scannable EPG is a very nifty bolt-on, and
channel changing is pretty smooth and seamless, with only minimal breakup
during the initial few seconds. Occasional stuttering but overall very
watchable.

I love subtle UIs like the LiveStation one! It just... works... Like I hope
the iPlayer TV streaming interface becomes when that's rolled out ;) I like
how when windowed, you even get the extra menus to extend the functionality
(I like menus, lots of lovely options)... Needs more A/V options though to
config things like buffering periods and EPG data retention etc (but I'm
just an unstoppable tweaker). Happily, even the Silverlight installation
went without a hitch!

I'm right in thinking Silverlight uses H264, yeah?

It's worked OK on the PCs I have tried. Al Jazera was slower to start than
News 24, and the French channels work. I was a bit disappointed - but not
surprised - to find BBC World Service than BBC World.

It's ahead of the News 24 Windows Media stream, which is interesting.

Indeed, I just received my account activation email (months after I signed
up!) but I had been piggybacking on someone else's shared UID occasionally
(it might've even been Brian who gave me access!) - which was useful, but I
lost all the configs anyway when my laptop broke in November. Just
installing this latest build onto my laptop now, hopefully the quality's not
decreased since I last used it :)

And, knowing me, I'll end up blogging about it instead of doing work
tonight, I have a bad habit of doing that. Isn't procrastination fun.

...I'm doing it already!

I've just had an update on the LiveStation product.

It's a kind of live TV streaming IPTV product, and now has a choice of
channels.
