What they have done is called "user agent sniffing". They basically
look at whats connecting and if its an iPhone they serve a different
web page. You can spoof user agent[8][9] to bypass this but thats not
a proper solution.

Maybe what we're witnessing here is the slow but progressive breaking down
of the barriers erected by the rightsholders... Maybe a stealth effort by
the Beeb to show that hey, nonDRMed content doesn't decrease the value of
your holders' performance rights, it does make the consumers happier though
and increases the viewership - and if that equals more eventual dvd sales,
so be it...
 
... Part of me doesn't put it past them that this has always been some part
of their longterm gameplan.
