My thought precisely! I would love to come & cannot afford it. I told a friend (he maintains two small Drupal modules) about the recent Manchester Drupalfest .... he went & loved it, it was free, he came from rural Wales & had a great time.
Met some prime programmers & taught a little sysadmin. His only costs were - a rather expensive hotel since he was late booking, food & rail travel. THAT is the kind of conference that might be promoted here. Mind you - if I had the money to spare I probably wouldn't complain. Nico Morrison Wandsworth UK. PS: Looking for some timeline software - times/people/locations - visual searching. To run on a server under Linux/MySQL with a Drupal frontend - need for an archival travellers project to coordinate who/what/where/when for a number of individuals over several past decades.
