I have excluded that directory (\System Volume Information\SRM\), and
I have included to only backup the certain directories that I want
backing up.
Yet I still get that access_denied error. The backuppc user has full
permissions, both read and write.
I’m confused to why I’m getting the error when it has full
permissions. I have tired everything I know with my limited knowledge
of backuppc.

It hasn’t completed its first full backup yet. Is there something I
am doing wrong?

Apparently this somehow wasn't clear before.

1) Stop trying to access directories you cannot access through SMB.

2) You cannot access \System Volume Information\
