/etc/hosts.

Try this:

if the linux-box-fedora have a fixed IP i think that is enought add 
something like

192.168.1.23 mylinuxboxFedora

to the /etc/hosts of backupPC-box


Another way is to install Samba in the Fedora-box and share something.
