Agreed, completely. 

Let me be a little clearer regards my comments - in a strategy involving
backing up to other pools of online media, such as remote large disks,
the information is not truly 'backed up' until those disks are offline,
powered down and preferably unplugged in a vault somewhere. Nasty
programs, electrical issues and even sleepy backup administrators can
all conspire to harm online disks far more easily than offline disks or
tape.
