I use a batch file then have that batch file run each night about 15 minutes
before my backups start.
Create a file called kill_outlook.bat or whatever you want as long as it
ends with a .bat.
In this file place the following
taskkill /im outlook.exe
Then in Scheduled Tasks (control panel) create a new task running this file.
