id have to say that some platforms would be better either from a performance
and features standpoint, or from a configuration standpoint.  redhat/centos
and ubuntu/debian platforms seem to have significantly less backuppc
problems.  i see a lot of gentoo issues though.  it would be sensible to say
that redhat or debian would be recommended over gentoo then.  gentoo is not
known to be a stable platform by virtue of its constant bleeding edge
nature.

for all you gentoo ricers, i am not hacking on gentoo.  i just know that
gentoo has its place on system tweakers desktops and not in a server room.
