Yes, javascript is used to submit the request when you press the
button.

Janne's suggestion of using a <button> element won't work
that easily.

The reason I added javascipt is that html input (button) elements
don't allow different settings for the button text and the variable
value.  This makes it more complicated to support foreign languages.

The config editor makes use of javascript too, so removing javascript
would take a significant effort.
