While many low-end iSCSI appliances won't allow this, and the defaults on open 
source targets IET is to not permit multiple servers to access the same LUN, 
you can configure it otherwise. Essentially they are trying to protect users 
who would use filesystems like ext3 that wouldnt permit multiple servers to 
access the same filesystem simultaneously without hosing things. Using OCFS2 or 
GFS and there aren't any problems with accessing the same filesystem over 
iSCSI.
