Hi all,

I've got a Fedora 8 system, running BackupPC 3.1.0-1 out of the
rpm. I've run into several problems with BackupPC.

My problems:

(1) The size of the backed-up data increases by 32GB every time I do a
full backup. I suspect that BackupPC is storing a separate copy of
each identical file for each full backup. Is this supposed to happen?

(2) At some point (mid-January?) BackupPC would not start when I
started the system, printing an error message about not being able to
create a test hardlink between two directories. I created the
(missing) cpool directory, and then it would start. (I may have
inadvertently deleted the cpool directory earlier, or it may just have
not come with the package.)

(3) Now that my filesystem is full due to (1) above, BackupPC is
sending me emails saying that "Yesterday 24 hosts were skipped because
the file system containing /home/BackupPC/ was too full." But I'm
only using BackupPC to back up ONE host -- how could 24 hosts be
skipped? (Clearly it's counting each wakeup as a skipped host.) This
problem is not critical.

(4) The Server Status page claims that
"Pool is 0.00GB comprising 0 files and 0 directories (as of 2/10 03:00)"
This is not true -- my "pc" directory is 64GB. (the cpool directory is
still empty). This problem is also not critical, but it may shed some
light on the situation.

Thanks for any help you can offer. If there are any other details that
you need, please ask.

Joe
