That sounds interesting. Most of my clients are XP SP3. None were 
partitioned with extra space for a VSS like one would need for a Linux VSS. 
Can you do a VSS on NTFS without a dedicated partition to hold it?

(As I understand it, the extra partition is just a tiny space to hold 
filesystem edits while the filesystem is locked, and only has to be big 
enough to hold any filesystem changes for the lifetime of the VSS.)
