Smbclient will default to reading smb.conf from the standard location, but you could override that by adding '-s /path/to/your/smb.conf' to the SmbClient related commands. > I attach "BackupPC_Dump -i -v" output. > > On the CGI console I see the backup jobs (all rsync based) in running (but > idle) state for several hours before a timeout interrupts them. > > This appear like a backuppc bug because: > > - a warning message cause backup to fail > - a samba configuration problem cause rsync based backups to hang and fail. I'm missing something here. The smb config has nothing to do with rsync based xfers. Does the xfer log show any files copied? Maybe the box is just very slow at compressing files and was not finished when the (configurable) timeout happened. -- Les Mikesell lesmikes...@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open source business process management suite built on Java and Eclipse Turn processes into business applications with Bonita BPM Community Edition Quickly connect people, data, and systems into organized workflows Winner of BOSSIE, CODIE, OW2 and Gartner awards http://p.sf.net/sfu/Bonitasoft _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list BackupPC-users@lists.sourceforge.net List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
