Apologies for rewinding to the beginning of this thread, but the log lines you 
posted below would lead me to believe that the docker file failed to install 
BackupPC at all: it didn't create the user, it didn't download (or wasn't able 
to unpack) the software archive, it didn't create the init script for it.

The steps that have been suggested so far seem to be trying to patch up an 
installation that never happened.

Were you just using the unraid community app for backuppc that uses this 
dockerfile: https://hub.docker.com/r/tiredofit/backuppc/ ?

If so, it looks like that dockerfile's author just released a significant 
update to it yesterday. You might try installing again, and if it still breaks, 
then it might be best to open an Issue on the author's Github: 
https://github.com/tiredofit/docker-backuppc

If you don't have a Github account or aren't familiar with the process, post 
back here again with the results and I or someone else can open the issue.
