Any chance of an officially maintained docker or containerized version
to divorce it from disto upgrade cycles? I'm retired now but back
when I relied on it I always kept a VM installed on a laptop that
could have restored files from the real system's raid1 array or a
single mirror volume that was swapped regularly in an emergency.
Seems like these days a docker image would make it easier to keep a
spare copy as well as maintaining the working system across system
updates or even drastic changes.

maintaining a dock is a pain.
but i agree most docker user do not maintain anything so that clicks.

docks must maintain theĀ  software and all the stack within it, relase are
allmost daily with all the patches.
