The 2.2.2 release is being prepared in Branch-2.2.1, so after testing (as you have done), you can commit to the trunk and it will not create problems for 2.2.2. The trunk is currently considered unstable. I'll send a fuller email later, but in general, for small accepted projects (this one is accepted), developers can commit to the trunk.
