By the way, I forgot to mention why I made the change.  Basically, the old 
method passed the configuration as command line arguments, but that gets 
pretty clumsy after about 5 or 6 arguments.  So, now I'm simply sourcing the 
whole config file in the appropriate places.

This is necessary, because I am in the process of adding something like 10-15 
new configuration variables so that we can do multiple simultaneous backups 
of multiple different boxes.  Some users claim this fails when backing up to 
disk.
