Hey guys,

I know this may seem a bit early to ask, but when are Items 1 and 3 in the
projects file projected for completetion?
Item 1: Accurate restoration of renamed/deleted files
Item 3: Merge multiple backups

Where I work bacula is a huge influence on us and our clients. What can we
do to influence development of these features (time for development, etc)?

Also, is there any way to specify that at least one copy of a file should be
kept at all times? How do I ensure the file retention doesn't wipe out the
last copy of a file (if it has been unchanged)?

We back up data through the net and full backups are usually out of the
question. This makes managing space a nightmare because in order to free up
space, a large amount of our bandwidth is wasted backing up files we already
had but were deleted because they were part of another volume with lots of
older files.

It would be sooo much easier if it were possible to remove old (duplicate)
files from the catalog and merge the full and incremental backups into a
single differential (and remove deleted/renamed files), then I could remove
the old volumes (without consuming all of my client's bandwidth).

Please forgive me for being impatient, try not to take this message to
seriously.

Sincerely,
-Michael Short
