Hello,

I think that Dan responded well to the support issues you raise below, which I
encourage you to bring up on the bacula-users list if you have more
questions.

I'll briefly answer your projects questions, and provide a more complete
answer somewhat later in a Status Report that I will send out later this
week.

Being a volunteer Open Source project, we don't fix any deadlines on any
projects. That said, when a project is scheduled, we do fix target dates.
Neither of those projects are currently scheduled.

You can influence development of those features by providing programmers or
finding one that is willing to do the project.

Once the new Bacula Company gets going (probably April 2008), you will be able
to contract directly with the company for the implementation of specific
features.

For the next year my time working for the Bacula project will be reduced from
100% to 50% and the other 50% devoted to getting Bacula Company operational.
For the next few releases, any programming time I have will be pretty much
devoted to implementing Enterprise features, and it seems that project #1 is
not high priority for enterprises compared to certain other projects such as
Copy pools and item #3. See the recent archives for recent emails on this
subject.

Normally, Bacula should not automatically prune the last copy of a particular
Job. However, if you are relying on that, I recommend that you carefully
test it.
