Yes, I see. *Very* good practice.  That is my recommended way of installing 
Bacula.  I include backup of my equivalent of your /opt/bacula in the nightly 
catalog backup, and I email myself the resulting .bsr file. 

We hope to be able to supply such single directory install binaries in the not 
too distant future.
