Hello Graham,

Eric and I have worked up some scripts that could help in building the Win64
FD. We do not guarantee them, and as is now noted in the README.mingw, we
build only on Ubuntu Hardy. Other distros or versions of Ubuntu because they
have different gccs installed are not likely to work.

The two new scripts are:

src/win32/build-cross-mingw-w64
src/win32/build-depkgs-mingw-w64

There is no explicit documentation on them, but the documentation for the w32
version is valid for the w64 files.

The final part is that you must modify the VSS headers. We cannot publish
information about them though because it is Microsoft proprietary code
(though IMO, there is really nothing worth keeping restricted in that code).
Any good C++ programmer who has followed the (stupid programmer unfriendly)
evolution of g++, should be able to figure out how to fix the problems
(instance -> class).

At this point, we have a significant amount of time and gone far beyond simply
releasing the source code and our scripts for building Bacula. We have also
released all the 3rd party (library + compiler) code we have used (not
required) as well as scripts to build them (not required), and reasonable
documentation on the whole process (not required).

The above scripts should help a lot. Beyond that, if you or anyone else would
like to have additional help, you can get it by taking out a support contract
with Bacula Systems.

Good luck,

Kern
