Hello Dirk, First, I have to say that the new changes to bat -- the tabbed widget in the main window look really nice. I think that most users will be quite happy with them.
When I first loaded the code and tried to build it, it failed. It appears that there was a dependence on a function that is only available in Qt 4.4. I removed that code, which was used to hide a title bar that is not really needed. So now bat builds here. However, this brings up the question of what version of Qt do we require, and how do we ensure that bat builds with that version. Currently the documented version is Qt 4.2 or greater. I am currently on Qt 4.3.4, so it is not clear if bat will still build on 4.2 as is documented. I think it is reasonable to move up to Qt 4.3.4, but requiring anything higher will exclude bat from a lot of systems, or at least make it more difficult to build. If you have a higher version of Qt loaded on your system, I think it might be good for you to get the depkgs-qt release (I am not sure if it is still on Source Forge) and setup your bat build environment to build against it. That would help ensure that we don't run into these kinds of problems. The same would apply to any other developer who modifies bat (such as myself and Eric). What do you think?
