Correct. > but you can simply try it. > This is an interesting subject because Bacula treats disk volumes as closely as possible to tape volumes. That is it never truncates a disk volume unless it would do the same to a tape, which means the only time is as you suggested, Arno, during a relabel. Somehow, though this is what I consider the proper behavior to maintain the data the longest possible, it seems that users like to name their volumes with dates and such rather than simply numbering them and letting Bacula cycle through a fixed (or limited) set of volumes. Human nature I guess. I suppose that someday, I will need to add "Delete Purged Volumes" to the ever growing list of directives ... :-) ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
